Dr Cham Tao Soon was appointed to the Board of Directors of our Company on 20 January 2007, appointed Chairman from 27 January 2007 and was last re-elected on 25th January 2010. He is a member of the Audit, Nominating and Remuneration Committees. He is also a Director of WBL Corporation limited ("WBL"). For over two decades until 2002, he was the President of Nanyang Technological University. He is now the Chairman of NSL Ltd, Nanyang Fine Arts Foundation Ltd, Singapore-China Foundation Ltd and Deputy Chairman of Singapore Press Holdings Ltd. He serves as a Director at United Overseas Bank Ltd and Soup Restaurant Group Ltd. He was conferred a Public Administration Medal (P.P.A), and the Distinguished Service Order (D.U.B.C.).

Dr Cham holds a BEng(Hons) from the University of Malaya, and a Bsc(Hons) from the University of London. He obtained his PhD from Cambridge university, UK. He also has several honorary degrees which were conferred on him by universities. These include the University of Strathclyde, the University of Surrey, Loughborough University and Soka University. He is a fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Singapore; the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, UK and the Royal Academy of Engineering, UK.

Dato Tan Bian was appointed to the Board of Directors on 6th September 2010. On 18th February 2011, he was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director. He was the Chief Operating Officer of Avago Technologies and Worldwide Sales and Global Operations prior to his retirement in February 2009. He joined Hewlett Packard in 1973 and was promoted to Hewlett Packard Malaysia Managing Director in 1989. He was then appointed as President of Agilent Technologies Malaysia and Singapore in 1999 when Hewlett Packard spun off its Semiconductor Operations to form Agilent Technologies.

Dato Tan was a council member in the Industrial Coordination Council under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia in 2000. He was also a Director of Singapore Workforce Development Agency from 2004 to 2005. He was the founding Chairman of Penang Skills Development Centre. Currently he is a director of AAC Technologies (HK) and was an independent director of SIA Engineering Co Ltd from April 2004 to July 2010. He is also a Director of United Nations International Trade Centre since 2009. Dato Tan was conferred the Pingat Kelakuan Tertinggi in 1991, the Darjah Johan Negeri in 1995 and Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri which carries the title “Dato” in 1997 by the Governor of Penang, Malaysia in recognition of his many contributions to Malaysia.

Mr. Alexander Chan Meng Wah is an Independent Director, the Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Nominating and Remuneration Committees. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of our Company on 2 August 2001 and was last re-elected on 24 January 2011. Mr. Chan is Executive Vice-Chairman of Jebsen & Jessen (SEA) Pte Ltd and also serves as independent director on various public and private companies. He was a former Nominated Member of Parliament (NMP) in the 10th Singapore Parliament. Mr. Chan holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Honours) degree from the University of Singapore and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. Mr. Chan was awarded the Public Service Medal and the Public Service Star by the President of Singapore in 2007 and 2011 respectively.

Sin Boon Ann

Mr. Sin Boon Ann is an Independent Director, the Chairman of the Remuneration and Nominating Committees and a member of the Audit Committee. He is currently a Deputy Managing Director of Drew & Napier LLC. He was appointed to the Board of Directors of our Company on 2 August 2001 and was last re-elected on 24 January 2011. He has been with Drew & Napier LLC since 1992. Mr. Sin is principally engaged in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Drew & Napier LLC, Mr. Sin taught at the Faculty of Law of National University of Singapore from 1987 to 1992. He was a Member of Parliament for Tampines Group Representation Constituency (GRC) from 1996 to 2011 and a member of the Singapore Totalisator Board from 2007 to 2010. Mr. Sin received his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degrees from the National University of Singapore and his Master of Laws from the University of London.

Mr. Tan was appointed as a Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director of the Company on 11th February 2010 and was re-elected on 24 January 2011. He is a member of the Remuneration Committee. Mr. Tan was with the WBL Group for 37 years; managing the automotive business for most of his career in Wearnes and was most recently Advisor in the Group CEO’s Office until September 2011. Mr. Tan holds a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Singapore and has a Master of Science degree from UCD, National University of Ireland.

Chan Hong Wai

Mr. Chan was appointed as a Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director of the Company on 17th August 2010 and was re-elected on 24 January 2011. He is a member of the Nominating Committee.

Mr. Chan is the Managing Director of Manufacturing Services of WBL Corporation Limited and he manages component and contract manufacturing for the electronics industry and also precision-engineered components and sub-assemblies for the automobile and data storage industries in China, Malaysia and the UK. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Bachelor of Science (Physics). Mr. Chan brings with him more than 26 years of manufacturing experience, in wide-ranging industries such as electronics, data storage, contract manufacturing, computers and precision engineering.
